after we set out on our journey it started to rain. Very worrying as it
is always nasty to set up and start fishing with water trickling
down your neck! But ~ as we turned off the A361 it stopped ~ when we
arrived it looked perfect, with even blue sky in places and just a
faint ripple on the water. Well after about an hour the weather
caught us up and it started to rain rather heavily. This showery
weather continued for the rest of the day with just enough breaks with
sunshine to dry us out in between. How I miss the old days when you couldn't rely on the Weatherman getting it right!! As for the fishing, it was pretty dour, with many anglers, including half of us, lucky if we caught one. Bob reckoned he had a couple of tentative pulls but I bashed away all day with not even a touch. Terry
manged to catch a Brown Trout, but, at just over an inch long, it was
the smallest fish any of us have caught for a couple of years! Terry
reckoned it had a perfect body though!!! We were told that the day before it had been positively crowded with anglers and most of them "Bagged Up" in no time at all. The Weigh-in said everything, with only a couple weighing in, both with single fish exactly on 2 Lbs.
'Til we meet again,
John

Z Terry was pretty tired after the night before and had trouble keeping his rod out of the water.
Z

Z

Z Terry recovered enough by the evening to set up the scales in his usual professional manner! Z

Z
Graham Weighed In one fish but was sure it was bigger!!
Z

Z
It was still something to be very proud of today. He actually caught it in the last half hour after all day with nothing. Z

Z

Z John Beer also weighed in a nice fish. Z

Z
But there wasn't a dram between his fish and Graham's. Z

Graham, very graciously, accepted the Monthly Trophy on behalf of himself and John Beer. They will take it in turns to have it on there mantelpieces!!
